Barrel vs. Square Sauna: Compare the Actual Interiors

The outside shape is only the start. Compare the Thermory Barrel 60 and Square #40 from the door, the bench, and the garden to see how each uses its interior.

What changes inside a barrel sauna versus a square sauna?

The Barrel 60 wall curves inward above and below the widest part of the room. The Square #40 has longer upright wall sections and rounded upper corners. The difference is visible beside the benches and where the walls meet the ceiling. These two photographed installations let you compare the shapes directly.

How do the panoramic windows differ between these two Thermory saunas?

The Barrel 60 window follows the curved top of its round rear wall. The Square #40 has a broad rectangular rear window with rounded corners. Both open the back of the room to the surroundings, but the shapes frame the view differently.

Do these photographed barrel and square saunas both have porches?

Yes. Both the Thermory Barrel 60 and Square #40 shown here have a small porch outside the sauna door, with seats on either side. The barrel wraps its curved shell around that entry. The Square porch sits between straighter side walls. This describes these photographed versions, not every sauna in either family.

What does the roof look like on a finished barrel sauna?

On the photographed Thermory Barrel 60, a dark roof cover follows the curved shell and ends above the lower side wall. You can see it clearly from the garden-side view. That exterior detail is separate from the wood ceiling you see when sitting inside.

Where do I sit to enjoy the rear window in each layout?

In the Barrel 60, the long benches run toward the rear window, so the view sits at the end of the seating. In the Square #40, one bench runs directly beneath the rear window and another approaches it from the side. That changes which direction you turn to look outside.
